France spent the 1930s building one of the most formidable defensive lines in history — thick concrete bunkers, retractable gun turrets, miles of obstacles, all facing squarely towards Germany. In 1940, the Germans took one look, drove around through the Ardennes, and went in the back way instead. The Line itself was never actually broken. It just got politely ignored.

For the lads who plan for every scenario except the obvious one.
